Your Association depends on strong, quality leadership. The Board of Directors is a vital part of the progress and growth of your association. WHFA Board Member Benefits:
- Being the first to hear of furniture industry information, see trends, and learn how government regulation will affect your business.

Your obligations as a Board Member include:
1. Serve a three-year term beginning January 2012 and ending January 2015.
2. Attending two board meetings per year. The Spring Board meeting takes place over the weekend just prior to the Annual three (3) day Conference. The Fall Board Meeting takes place in late September.
3. Assist WHFA staff annually in developing and maintaining sponsorship opportunities.
4. As a part of the board meetings, directors will sit on two of the Board's six committees. You will provide expertise to the committees for the purpose of helping the industry in general, and more specifically, members of WHFA.
These committees include:
Group A
- Member Services/Member & Board Development
- Communications & Information Services
- Conference & Tradeshow
Group B
- Member Services/Member & Board Development
- Strategic Industry Relations
- Education & Sponsorship
5. Assisting the Association in reaching their short and long-range goals.
6. If attending the January Las Vegas Market, attend a one-hour breakfast, which is an abbreviated board and membership meeting. Also, represent the Board at a Sponsor Appreciation cocktail reception during markets.
7. A minimal time commitment is required in addition to attending the meetings. (i.e. conference calls, reviewing correspondence, etc.)
